Personal Wake Up Call Anyone?

Well folks the day has finally come. Eden can now open doors with no problem…
What does this mean you ask? Well, she now has the ability to give us an, “in person” wake up call. No more “mommmmyyyy or dadddyyy where are you” over the monitor.

10/16/2010 marks the first day Eden came to my side of the bed and said mommy, mommy, mommy, wake up-wake up! All Andrew and I could do was laugh! I forgot to mention she managed to get her rain boots on to make a grand entrance. Oh Yes! HA!
I tried to take a picture of her in her beautiful pajama and rain boot attire, but she insisted we put her princess dress on first. I tell yeah, she is just growing up way to fast!

So let me introduce you to Princess Eden, because princesses are all we can talk about these days.

A little of this and that

Let me first start out by giving a BIG THANKS to Janice. She awarded me with a great blog award. I really enjoy reading her blog and I’m very glad she takes the time to read mine.

The award is called…

The title is very appropriate for my blog. I tend to write about everything under the sun, but mostly about our family and the fun times we have together. My blog is my way of keeping up with our life, and one day I hope to make it into a book. Did you know you can do that? Pretty nifty!

So how do I accept my award? Well…

1. Thank the person that gave you the award.
2. Tell your readers 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to 15 bloggers you have recently discovered & love reading about!
4. Contact the bloggers & let them know you gave them an award!

Sounds easy enough!

Let’s get started with the seven things. You may already know these, but bear with me.

1. I Love to dance! If I could I would open up my own dance studio for young girls. The dream is not so far fetched but very time consuming I’m sure. So I will have to go with something closer in reach, like taking salsa lessons.

2. I enjoy trying new things… Like painting, sewing, cooking up something I’ve never cooked before. It’s almost like a stress releaser.

3. I really LOVE brownies and ice cream! If I could I would eat them every night for dessert.

4. Being outside is another favorite of mine. If it wasn’t so stinking hot this summer that is where you would find me. I enjoy doing outside activities. Swimming is one of them, and one day I would not mind having a pool in my backyard a creek would even do, which leads me to my next number

5. If I could build a hose of my own. I would build a plantation style house with a wrap around porch, lots of rocking chairs and a few porch swings, on a piece of land with a creek running behind it. The inside would be decorated with antiques from all over the world.

6. My favorite vacation spot is Florida. I enjoy the sounds, the smells, and the sand in my toes.

7. Being with family and friends is one of my most favorite things. I’m so glad I have been blessed with both.

Ok so who’s next?

1. Hannah @ I feel I've begun... now that we are one
2. Ashley @ Pumpkin Butter
3. Elizabth @ The Strates
4. Karlye @ The Sills Family
5. Whitney @ Life is what you make it
6. Renee @ Blessed, Thankful, and in Love
7. Nicki @ Baby Cakes
8. Lauren @Little Big Nest
9. Cortney @ Keeping up with the Carlson's
10. Jill @ The young and the precious
11. Mandy @ Day with the Bray's
12. Katie @ Krodsmeier Family
13. Jessica @ Jessica McCash
14. Janelle @ The Normans
15. Jennifer @ Nesting

Well if you know Eden well, you know she has a big personality and that she loves to sing out loud. So over the past couple of days I have been able to catch her singing. Please forgive me about the video. I took it with my iphone and I don’t know how to turn it the right way. You’ll notice a pattern though with her songs. Can you guess what her favorite one is?

Ok, I’ve been meaning to do this but I just haven’t. I have received a couple of outfits here and there from my big brother, (He’s a great shopper!) and aunt nutmeg who went on an Alaskan Cruise and was nice enough to bring Cade a cute little onsie! I also picked up this cute little duo from Paris Baby, out of Paris, Texas.

I thought I would share these cute little outfits with y’all.

The one on the top is from my big brother. It's Cade's first Neiman Marcus outfit! Haha! The one on the bottom left is also from my big brother, and the one on the right is from aunt nutmeg. Very Cute!

This is the one from Paris Baby. I loved the police leg warmers and thougt it was appropriate since Andrew was a state trooper.

A wonderful ending

Well it’s official. I finally have a degree! After two years of putting my degree on hold, I finally completed my internship in Social Work and gladly walked across the stage at Harding University to receive my diploma.

I was so delighted that my Husband, Eden, Mom, Dad, my brother, Uncle, Aunt, and cousins could be there to cheer me on.

After the ceremony we headed to this wonderful room to fellowship, where we ate some wonderful food and shared some funny memories.

Our good friends Hannah and Tyler came, along with Josh, Ashley, and their sweet little daughter Addison, who is almost one. It was so fun talking to everyone. I really enjoyed all the laughs and my wonderful gifts!

I must say I have the greatest family and friends a girl could ask for.

After everyone said their goodbyes, Eden headed back to NWA with my parents and Andrew and I headed over to Josh’s dads’ house where we swam and ate some amazing food! Andrew and I really had a good time catching up with everyone who was there. I wish we could do that more often.

That night Andrew and I headed up to NWA for the week. I guess you could say that was our vacation for the summer. We have been so busy it was great to just get away somewhere.

During the week Eden got to hang out with both sets of Grandparents. We picked two nights out of the week to attend services at GVBC, one of the greatest bible camps on earth. Eden really enjoyed the camp as well. She played in the rocks with her cousins and friends. She also learned how to share her favorite reptiles (reptar who is a fake lizard and blue frog who is a frog. We are really working on sharing our toys. I do believe she has come along way.

Later on in the week we attended Payton’s 4th birthday get together. We had a blast swimming with the cousins. Eden truly loves playing with them!

We also attended a Naturals Baseball game with my parents last Friday night. Eden enjoys watching baseball. She especially likes the fireworks display afterwards. I really delight in seeing her face light up. She is one precious little girl! We love her dearly!

Next on my catch up list, a sweet girl presented me with a blog award. I feel so flattered! So next post I'll accept my award.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Curley Haired Girls

So, I was looking through some old pictures today, and I ran across several pictures that turned a light bulb on upstairs.

Here’s the bright idea…

Curley hair runs in the family! No, I didn’t just realize that. I now finally have the time to blog about it and actually show you pictures of what I’m talking about.

Sorry you can't really see this picture up close. If you look closely though, the little girl on the far left is my Mom, with short curley hair. Standing next to her is my Aunt Marilyn. Aren't they lovely!?!

Next you have me. Oh look, curley hair!

Last but not least is my sweet little Eden sporting her sweet little curles.

So there you have it folks. Curley hair does run in our family.
Now ain't that some'thin!?!

Watermelon, Toy Story 3, and a fun project

I just love summers, don’t you? I love all the fresh fruits and vegetables. I especially love eating cold watermelon on a very hot day! What I love more then that though is watching Eden enjoy her watermelon. That girl can eat her fair share in watermelon, let me tell yeah.

My other love is for movies. I really enjoy going to a movie with people I love. It was so nice that Andrew, Eden and I got to see a movie the other day as a family. We finally got around to seeing Toy Story 3. For Eden it was her second theater movie and she loved it! She sat through the whole thing, gummy bears and all. We got a few pictures on the way to the movie. Can you tell she was a little happy about seeing Toy Story 3?

Next up, a fun painting for Eden’s room, which I really enjoyed doing. We are in the process of making her room into more of a toddler room that will grow with her. She is currently in a toddler bed right now, which is going really well. I have been so proud of her for staying in her bed, especially when she has the freedom to get up and down.

So here is the painting. I don’t know if I like the way it turned out or not, but I really had fun doing it.
I purchased everything from Hobby Lobby, another true love of mine, or should I say guilty pleasure.

The frame was originally black. I found it on the 80% aisle for 4 dollars.
The canvas was on sale as well for 6 dollars
Most of the paints I already had but I did purchase a few which were also on sale for 79 cents.
The tulle I used for the tutu I also had as well.
So I would say this project cost me around 12 dollars. Not to bad.
This is her bedding I picked out from JcPenny to go on the full size bed we already have. Her crib actually converts to a full size bed, which I love. I would really recomend spending the extra money on a 3-1 or 4-1 crib. I'm glad that her big girl room is coming together. I can't wait to see the ending product!
